Within St Helens u3a we currently have more than 40 groups open to our members. For a full list look at the Find a Group page.
There you can search for a group alphabetically, by category, venue or by the day of the week.
Groups meet mostly during the day, on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. With a few exceptions, our Interest Groups meet in or near the centre of town. There will usually be an individual charge for each group of £2.00 or £3.00.
Our Theatre, Interesting Buildings and Gardening groups arrange several visits and trips throughout the year – more information can be found on their web pages.

Each interest Group is unique, and all groups are run for and by the members. They will decide with the Leader, Co-ordinator or managing team how the group is organised.
There is usually an emphasis on participation, on sharing and learning from each other, although there is no pressure to contribute, speak or perform within the group.
The groups are social and the ‘tea break’ is often a great opportunity to meet with others. Friendships are made, often based on the shared love or passion of the group activity.
If a group happens to be full the group leader will offer to put your name on their waiting list.
Group leaders and the Groups Co-ordinator keep an eye on group waiting lists and if there is enough interest it may be time to consider starting a second group. So please register you interest even if the group is currently ‘waiting list only’.
