This group has developed from a short course aimed at members new to family history. We meet twice a month to discuss our research, help each other and look at both online and other resources which are available.
There is a wealth of material out there for the family historian – the secret is to know which material is relevant to your own research and how to make the best use of the records available.
As a group we like to explore the communities in which our ancestors lived and use a variety of sources to help us understand both the historical background and social conditions.
We are not a group for beginners but if you have some basic family history skills and you are interested in finding out more why not join us for a taster session. We are a friendly group and enjoy helping each other with both big and small ‘brick walls’.
